Collection: Bigfoot

The dense forests and rugged mountains of Appalachia host numerous reports of large, hairy, bipedal humanoid creatures.

While often grouped under the "Bigfoot" umbrella popularized in the Pacific Northwest, regional variants like Pennsylvania's Albatwitch or Ohio's Grassman show distinct local flavors.

Legends of such creatires predate European settlement. Many Native American tribes in the Appalachians and Ohio River Valley speak of hairy wild men, giants, and forest spirits.

Cherokee stories mention Tsul 'Kalu (slant-eyed giants) in the mountains; and other groups referenced similar beings as being protectors, tricksters, or relatives.

Not all accounts of bigfoot like creatires portray aggression. Appalachian versions often depict elusive, intelligent creatures that avoid humans, sometimes linked to unusual lights, sounds, and UFOs.

Clarion River (multiple 2016 sightings), Cook Forest, Chestnut Ridge are all local Hotspot for Bigfoot sightings.
